Could some of the ENTJ voters please explain their reasoning in regard to their typing? I don't think it's impossible, just find the reasonings here lacking severely. For what I know, I don't think he fits Te-dom. As IDRlabs said of Te (in which they were just reiterating Jung), "As Jung says, Te likes to put everything on a formula, and then follow that formula. Te likes structure, fixed standards, and set procedures."
From that POV, why ENTJ for London? He wasn't someone seeking to bring his environment into a systematically ordered state with the aid of accepted theories and data. Rather he seems like a Pe-dominant type, no? He was much more of a chaotic, horizon-chasing adventurer. Yes, ENTJs can be opportunistic and seek new horizons (due to ambitions) but their cognition is rarely rooted in experience as an end in itself but rather, as IDRlabs puts it, "as parameters to be synthesized into concepts, procedures and – you guessed it – standards."
Think Napoleon, Bill Gates, Alexander Hamilton or Aristotle with regard to Te-Ni. Napoleon rewritten European law codes; Hamilton built an entire national financial architecture; Bill Gates structured the computing world; Aristotle categorized all human knowledge. Their "formulas" were grand, macro-level systems meant to govern and standardize the external world. Jack London's 1,000-words-a-day rule, by contrast, wasn't a macro-organizational system. It was a brute-force habit he forced on himself so he could fund his real passion: living. He wrote to pay off his massive debts from ranching, buying yachts, and traveling. For him, the formula was a mechanical chore to sustain his freedom.
